Is there any way to remove a misdiagnosis from doctor's records?

Question:
I was misdiagnosed with a terminal disease several years ago, and I was wondering how I could reverse the diagnosis. Thank you very much!

Answers:
If you were diagnosed with a terminal disease several years ago and you're not dead yet, anyone looking at your record will see that it isn't accurate.

When your doctor assesses you, they find what you currently are afflicted with. I would recommend that you get a doctor appointment for a physical, blood tests, etc... to get your medical record current to your present health condition. That way, if your medical records are use for whatever reason, the information will be correct. The misdiagnoses will still be there, but your present condition is more what your doctor is concerned about.
I wonder how it will be important to you now that anything like that exists in the records. You are alive & healthy, this itself is proof that diagnosis was wrong. It should be doctor's and the hospital's concern that they correct the diagnosis. It should be embarrassing for them.
A serious diagnosis in your medical records can affect your ability to qualify for health insurance in the future. Is that the reason you're interested in correcting the misdiagnosis?
Contact your doctor or the facility that made the diagnosis and ask them to correct the records. It would also be a good idea to request copies of all your medical records. That way you know what is in them and you can be sure they are correct. It is difficult or impossible to get life and health insurance with pre-existing condition like that on your medical records.
