I was finishing a letter I was writing and it disappeared. Is it on my hard drive?

Question:
I was responding to a post entitled Fading eyesight. I wrote about Sjogren's Syndrome information, I referred to House Institute in Los Angeles. It is an institute dedicated to the successful treatment of muscular degeneration and hearing losses. I understand it is on my hard drive. Can I retrieve it successfully? Please tell me how.

Answers:
It will only be there if your system automatically saves documents while you are working in them.

Click your start button and go to MY Recent Documents, if it was saved, you'll see it there.

It is a good idea to go to TOOLS, then OPTIONS in Word, Excel, etc and click the SAVE tab to make sure it autosaves, auto recover, etc.
Either it is minimized and you will find it in the task bar. Or, open the MSword, it will be there as 'scrap'. If it was in compose of the mail box, you may go back to find it. It is ironical that it was an article on fading eyesight!
All the best!
It depends on these things below.

* YOUR KIND OF SOFTWARE
* HOW MUCH SPEED YOUR COMPUTER HAS
DOES YOUR COMPUTER EVER DELETE THINGS BY ITSELF?
* ALSO CONTACT A COMPUTER SPECIALIST FOR QUESTIONS.

OR GO TO WHERE YOU 1ST BOUGHT THE COMPUTER AND ASK IF YOUR KIND OF COMPUTER WILL RETRIEVE IT.

ALSO TELL THEM WHAT HAPPENED AND SEE IF THEY CAN HELP YOU..

**Next time you will know what to do if that happens!
