Can a person get parasitic worms in the U.S?

Question:

i heard on third party countries is easier... but can an ordinary person who doesnt have poor hygene, meaning he or she is a very clean person " just bite his nails" get a parasitic worm?

also what are all the symptoms?

YES... My husbands brother in law got a parasite from drinking water from a creek. They could be seen crawling under their skin.. i dont know what other types there are but if you think you may have some you should be seen by a doctor.

Yes, of course. Symptoms... gastrointestinal distress, uh, seeing worms. depending on the variety, you could get anemic, itching anus. Kids get them all the time from ingesting mud. Someone very close to me got a parasite when a dog hit her in the mouth with his paw which was muddy. Bad water can cause it too. Anyway, they can test for it easy and treatment in 99.9% of cases is really easy.
