I am allergic to aspirin, can i use salicylic acid on my skin?

Question:
"I am allergic to aspirin", can i use salicylic acid on my skin? does it hurt so bad? I bought the 3% solution. How to apply it properly? side effects? how many times to be applied? thank you!

Answers:
salicyclic acid is the active ingredient in asprin...I really would not use this if you have an allergy to the stuff.. take it back to the chemist where you bought it and ask them for an alternative treatment for what ever you are trying to treat.
If you are truly allergic to asprin, dont use the salicylic acid.
You did not mention the reason you considering using the product.
Since salicylic acid is chemically related to aspirin, if you are allergic to aspirin I would not use it.
