My friend is wrong about this ...wearing a condom prevents him from STD and/or AIDS?

Question:

Answers:
It does not completely prevent you from getting AIDS or other sexually transmitted diseases but lowers the risk significantly. Latex condoms are the best in this situation and the female should also use a female condom for maximum prevention. Also, both partners should be honest about what diseases they have. And avoid any other sexual play besides normal intercourse (no oral or anal).
The only thing that prevents an STD or AIDS 100% is abstinence.

After that a condom is your best protection.
condoms help prevent from most STD's but HIV is the exception. Wearing a condom does nothing to prevent HIV. The virus is too small and can pass through. AID's is a stage of this disease when ur T-Cell ( White Blood Cell) Falls below 200.then your doctor will term this as AIDS.

Hope this helps.
I'm not sure about what you mean about your friend being wrong about this. Anyways...

Condoms are an effective preventative for STDs and HIV, if used properly they can provide over 90% protection from most diseases. But none are 100% in prevention, and the only sure fire way is through either abstinance or in a very trusting monogomus relationship in which you both are tested.
Well it can help to prevent him from getting a STD or AIDS but there is a high risk of him still getting it because first off condoms do have the tendency to fail and secondly the condom only covers the penis not the genitals. So if he was sexually active with someone who had an STD or AIDS, he would definally get a Genital STD so ya, he is wrong..hey it pays to pay attention in health class! lol
yeah its not 100% effective it just lessen the risk also the only thing that is 100% is no SEX
It helps. There is no such thing as "safe sex", which is a myth.

Heck, you can get STDs from toilet seats, needles, and other non sexual things like blood transfusions.
Next to abstinence ( no sexual intercourse), condoms are the next best step to lower the risk of STD's/ AIDS. The lower the risk significantly however, condoms have been known to break or get left inside the woman. The condoms used should be relatively strong ( latex), not the thin condoms. If the condom should break or get left inside then she will need to call her Doc to have it removed and, if there is no desire for pregnancy, the morning after pill will be prescribed. You will need to see your Doc for testing, although it may be too soon. Have the both of you been tested any these STD's before having sexual relations?? If not, use the condoms and schedule testing so you have reassurance that the both of you are clean. I hope that this has helped.
I don't know
Not a thing protects you best as not having sex. There are clinics that offer free information on subjects regarding sex. I am just letting you know that there is information on this out there. You just need to be willing to go there or sometimes you can even call and they will send you information on the subject. People do need to be knowledgeable on the subject of sex.
