Salicylic Acid?
Question:
Answers:
Yep, it does make your skin peel. Its is the same stuff used on Dr scholls corn removers. It does work...keep at it. It is also found in a lot of skin care products as it is great for acne.
That all depends on what form of salicylic acid you are using. If you are talking about the active ingredient in most facial washes, the concentration is about 2% usually, which is mild enough to cleanse, but little else. However, there are patches out there which contain 20% which will cause your skin to die and turn a pasty white, at which point you can abrade it (scrape it off). It's usually recommended to apply that to only the affected area for about 24 hours, remove the dead skin and wait another day before reapplying another patch (I assume you are cutting only the size you need, and not applying the entire 3x4 inches) to prevent too much skin death at once. Yes, because it's a relatively weak acid, it will hurt for a while until the skin dies.
