Did my boyfriend catch genital herpes?

I didn't have any sores at all but today I noticed a blister and I'm not sure if it was an outbreak or not. Could he have contracted it?

The soreness is not a symptom of herpes that quickly. It takes about two to three weeks from the time of exposure for the virus to replicate to sufficient numbers to cause an outbreak with symptoms. The blister could also just be from rough sex, but it could coincidentally be the start of a new outbreak for you. If it is, then theres a high chance that he got it from you that weekend. Have him get tested, even if no outbreak occurs for him, in about 6 weeks, using the Focus Technologies HerpeSelect test (done with a blood draw). This will test for antibodies to the virus (both type 1 and 2), and you can determine if he has it, even if there is no subsequent outbreak. About 25% of people who contract herpes do not show any visible signs of an outbreak.
If you have herpes you have to make sure he wears a condom, even if you don't think you are having an outbreak! If you have a sore you may be having an outbreak! People don't get blisters from sex!

It is possible to contract herpes even when sores are not present... Hopefully you two were smart enough to use protection.

herpes can be contracted at anytime, whether there are visible symptoms or not. Most likely he wouldnt have symptoms this soon- however it is very possible that you gave it to him.

YES, he absolutely could have gotten herpes from you. You must understand that you don't need to be having an outbreak for it to be contagious. Most people who have herpes go through what is called asymptomatic shedding, which means basically that you are contagious even though it doesn't look like it. This happens several times a year for most people with herpes, and is sometimes accompanied by mild symptoms like a fever, swollen glands, soreness, or an itching/tingling. So, yeah, he could have it.
