Am I still allergic to fish?

Question:

Well, my question isnt really 'am i still allergic' more like 'wat the f is goin on?!?' Allergies are so confusing! Since i was young, ive had an extreme fish allergy. It almost killed me once, and i had to be hospitalized. Since then, ive stayed away from all types of fish. However, ive been able to enjoy crabs, and clams since the same time, except lobsters. They seem to set off my allergy. Any particular reason y lobster but not crabs? I just need some type of reasoning, because im tired of guessing and testing. At an all-you-can-eat seafood buffee, can you imagine how paranoid i look? Lol. And to top it all off, im eating a mcdonalds caesar salad rite now. Guess what one of the ingredients is in the dressing? ANCHOVIES! Fish! And yet, for some majestic reason, im completely unaffected. Does this mean that im only allegic to some types of fish and seafood? If so, what are the deciding factors for me to follow? Id love to actually try some fish one day...

Some health shops offer food allergen tests. Costs around £40 for the full test. May be worth a try and you may find exactly what it is your allergic to.

ok, in ceaser salads they only use anchovy paste. you can also go to an allergies doctor and get tested for different kinds of fish and find out which ones set you off. tehn you can know what ones are safe to eat. :)

I have the same problem. Every few years if my husband has fish I will try the tiniest crumb and can usually tell from that. Ceasar dressing does not bother me either? Didn't know it had anchovies ahhaa. Or it is not real anchovies and only some type of fake flavoring? I can pretty much eat all seafood I think. But it has to be real. I have to be careful that I don't get imitation crab. Did you eat lobster or some sort of lobster salad?
