I have had them many times in my life. This is what you need to do. Put a washcloth and get it wet with Warm water not hot. Then you should call the doctors or make an appointment for a faster result they will look at your sons sty and they will give you a perscription and they will give your ointment for the eye. This will work. Hope your son will be alright =]
Apply heat as often as you can. It will bring it to a head.
My daughter had a sty when she was 3. I took her to the doc and he told me to apply a washcloth soaked with warm water to the eye several times a day until the sty is gone. Squeeze the wash cloth out so it is not dripping.
A warm washcloth. Make it into a "pirate's mask" so he will wear it.
kimberly is right - a warm moist compress regularly is good. make sure it is kept moist- if he won't let you put saline drops in then maybe a shower or warm bath. drynes will make it last longer, and can even cause them
There is a medication called "Sty" that is sold over-the-counter. Often the drug store has their store brand right next to it which is cheaper and contains the same ingredients. It is mostly petroleum jelly. It should be harmless to children. I have a sty right now. They suck.
my sister suffered many years with the sty problem and the remedy for her was to use a tea bag on her eye. act as if your making tea use the bag when it is warm on the eye it will alleviate the sty from being big and red. if it does not work take the child to the doctor he may need surgery to remove it. good luck and hope this works for your son it worked for my sister until she got older and had surgery.
