For 6 yrs. going on 7 people have been running from my breath. It started when I was 18 I had a bad toothache.?

Question:
When I would lie down my ear would fill up with fluid and I couldn't hear. Since then I've been to an ear nose and throat doctor and have 6 teeth pulled(4 were wisdom teeth). I mean people can be 5 feet away and cover their nose and say mean things like "she stank". When I cover my mouth and nose, nothing is said. I'm going back to an e.n.t. doctor soon because both of my ears fill up when I lie down and now my right ear is closed all the way. This is 1 in a million. I can't go anywhere or do anything. I floss, brush, use a toung scraper, mouthwash. I also swallow those breath gel capsles with parsley that your suppose to swallow after you've eaten garlic or onions, and I eat parsley, people still run. I can put a whole pack of altoids in my mouth and it still doesn't work. I've spent so much money. As big as this world is I know someone can help me find an answer. I am very clean almost a neat freak. Please help.

Have your ENT doctor take a good long look at your tonsils, checking them for crypts (cave-like hollows with a small opening where food, mucous, and missing socks can collect), which can emit a powerful, nasty odor when full.

He should also be checking the back of your throat for postnasal drip, mucus running from your sinuses to be swallowed, which has an odor if your sinuses are infected. With your ear problems, that seems highly likely, too.

Your efforts at dental hygiene are probably not addressing the source of the problem. Make sure your specialist understands that your bad breath is interfering with your life and that you need to learn the cause and get it dealt with.

It may not be your mouth or teeth that is the problem.you hit on a key point when you mentioned your ears. People can have chronic ear infections with drainage that can cause absolutely horrid bad breath! This odor does not originate in the mouth, but in the back of the throat and around the Eustachian tubes, therefore is virtually impervious to OTC treatments. It is often dismissed or simply overlooked as you have you outward symptoms which would indicate you have any kind of an infection. Chronic sinus issues also cause bad breath. Some new information also has hinted at the possibility that, do to the nature of our digestive tract, that we have a large build up of lets just say not so pleasant stuff in our upper GI tract which can cause terrible bad breath as well, which calls for a colon cleansing to remedy the odor. Now there is little, if any, solid evidence to back this up claim either from the AMA or other reputable sources, but just to let you know it does always have to be your mouth. Anyway, don't give up! If your oral cavity is healthy there is NO reason for chronic bad breath that is not at least somewhat better with OTC treatments.
Good Luck!
