Generally, if you are allergic to one cat you are allergic to all cats. What may be happening is that the environment of the cat is what is making you ill and not the cat. For example, if you have pollen allergies, a cat who is an outdoor cat would have the pollen allergens in their fur. Or, if an owner of a cat uses a cleaning product that has an ingredient you are allergic to it could be in the cat's fur. The best thing for you to do is to get tested by an allergist.
your best bet is not to take chances and see an allergist for those tests as you could find out the hard way and risk your health in the process. You may not like the results if you try and find out on your own. Better safe than sorry
If you are allergic to cats. Than there is rally none you can make a pet. Try a dog. Don't be sad alot of people are allergic to felines.
Its actually pet dander that you are allergic to and all cats have them. Its not a particular breed, its their pet dander that makes you allergic to them. Like that other comment, it can be from pollen from the outdoors if your pet is an out door cat, but if its an indoor cat or both you might just be allergic to both pollen and the cat.
