Restaurants suitable for nut allergy sufferers?

Question:
I have four year old twin boys who are allergic to nuts. We have mastered catering for this in our shopping and cooking at home, but seem to struggle with eating out. We live in South Buckinghamshire and plan holiday in Dorset in Sept. Does anybody know local restaurants that could cater for us in either location?

Answers:
Why not try 'Nurse Nancy's Allergy Gourmet Diners'? Located in both Buckinhamshire and Dorset amongst other places, we cater for all sorts of allergies, including:
# Wheat
# Fish
# Air
# Water
# Feet
# Cutlery
# Napkins
# And of course, nutters. I mean nuts. (Whoops!)

I also have an allergy to walnuts and pecans, but not to any others. When dining out, I make sure I don't order anything that may have nuts in it. If I am unsure about an item I might want to try, I ask the waitress to check with the kitchen staff before ordering it, or I may ask the hostess (if there is one) to check when she directs me to a table. It's a minor nuisance, but it's a part of life for anyone with allergies. If your kids are trying something suspicious, they should take only a tiny taste and then wait for a minute. They're old enough to recognize the signs of their allergy within that time. If the allergy is severe, always carry a supply of doctor-recommended antihistamine with you when you go out to eat.
