How will I know if I have a urinary infection?

Question:
What I mean by this is will it hurt everytime I pee or sometimes.

Answers:
Symptoms of a UTI include pain or burning everytime you urinate, urge to urinate frequently but usually passing only small quantities of urine, dribbling, pain or a feeling of heaviness in your lower abdomen, reddish or pinkish urine, foul-smelling urine, cloudy urine, pain in your back just below the rib cage, on one side of your body, fever and chills, and nausea and vomiting. You will need to see your doctor for an exam and testing for confirmation. If it is a UTI, antibiotics would be prescribed. In the meantime drink plenty of fluids including cranberry juice. There is also an over the counter medication called AZO which can be used for any pain you may be having, but this can only be used for a maximum of two days. Urinate frequently and completely to empty your bladder each time. Avoid soda, coffee, alcohol- anything containing citrus juices or caffeine until the infection has cleared. If you are female, avoid any type of feminine products like sprays as they may irritate your urethra. If you are sexually active urinate after every encounter, and make sure you wipe from front to back. Also cleanse the area before sex.
UTIs aren't infectious diseases. The typical symptoms are burning on urination, a small amount of blood in the urine, cloudy urine, strong smelling urine, lower abdmonial pain or discomfort, frequent or strong urges to urinate, frequent urine in small amounts. Most people experience at least some of the symptoms.

If you suspect that you may have a UTI, see your doctor for a urinalysis and a urine culture. In the meantime, avoid acidic fruit juices as they can irritate, drink plenty of water and don't bother drinking cranberry juice. It can help prevent UTIs but doesn't treat them. Only an antibiotic will do that.
One thing the other nurses forgot to mention was you can also take Uristat to help with the pain. It turns your urine bright orange, but it will stop the pain within a half hour or so. You will need antibiotics though to treat the infection. Hope that helped!
...it will burn to urinate.....
-Dribbling urine/leaks, sometimes accidents
-Burns to go to the washroom
-Frequent urination

Try drinking cranberry juice.
Sometimes there is no pain at all. You might have a lot of pressure like you have to pee, but then only go a little bit once you get there. The pressure is hard to describe it's more annoying than painful. If you are unsure I advise you go to the doctor. If a UTI is left untreated it can lead to other more serious things.
