Ive just noticed that it came on when i ate something, could it be food causing it that side of my body?
I dont know if its more of a sensation than a pain but i lie in bed some nights suddenly waking up checking if im still alive, and that my hearts still beating
Its not anxiety or panic attack because i know how they feel, its more of a sensation of something passing through
should i be worried?
Answers:
I used to have such pains and was once rushed in blue lighted ambulance to a hospital 20 miles from me...only to find that it was a digestive problem. I was prescrobed pills and it solved the problem.HOWEVER your problem may not be the same as mine and...you are unlikely to get a definitive answer on here so I would suggest a visit to the doctor where you may have tests to check your heart, etc to make sure all is O.K. DO IT PLEASE for your own peace of mind.
Best wishes, Mike.
Could be indigestion, think what you eat before it happens, you could be having a reaction to certain foods. My body hates peppers of all colours.
You should see a doctor regardless of what it could be, just to be safe. Your doctor can write you a referral to see a cardiologist. DON'T WORRY. It may be nothing at all, or it may be something that needs to be treated.
In the meantime, if you're smoking, you might want to see about quitting, same with alcohol, because alcohol is a cardiotoxin. Get moderate exercise, eat less fat and more complex carbs... I sound like a commercial don't I?
Don't worry, stay cool, enjoy the weekend.
Sounds gastric to me, perhaps an acid reflux (acid from your tummy making its way up the food pipe). This food pipe runs up the centre chest by your heart and could explain why you feel this way. If you're waking at night to check you're alive then that IS anxiety. Naturally if you think there's something wrong with your heart then you will worry, even subconciously. For that reason alone I'd check in with your Doc, some minor checks will help sort this out. Meanwhile try gaviscon (or similar antacid).
In closing - i don't think its anything to worry about but you ought to get it sorted coz there's no need to live with any pain no matter how minor or irritating.
You don't mention your age, if you are taking medications, or your general health condition, so I am going to list several ideas. You may want to take one, or all, of these ideas to your physician for further evaluation.
1. Cardiac problems should be ruled out first.
2. You mention it occured after eating. Please read about hiatal hernias, which is the protrusion of the stomach into the chest cavity. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/hiatal-...
3. Pleurisy is the inflammation of the lining of the lungs. It can cause "heart" pain. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/pleuris...
4. Costochondritis is inflammation of the cartilage around your breastbone. It can also cause "heart" pain. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/costoch...
3.
5. Another possibility is GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease), which can cause shortness of breath and chest pain. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/gerd/ds...
Of course you are having anxiety! Chest pain is not the same as a headache, or abdominal pain, or sore muscles. It is frightening. Discussing the cause of your discomfort with your physician may make you feel better!
With all due repect to the general knowledge of YouQA.com ers, I cannot understand why people ask serious questions instead of going to a doctor.
Sounds like indigestion to me if its when you eat something cold- also indigestion attacks when you lie down. You could try some gaviscon advance- if that helps you have your answer. If not go and see your GP who will check you over.
I am an alternative medicinal therapist and an ex nurse and it sounds like indigestion, If you had a heart problem you would get more than what you have. Keep a record of what you eat and if you get pain with a certain food don't eat it

Your ? was should i be worried? No
My ? for you is why are you looking for attention?
Hopefully it is to do with your digestion, but angina also occurs after eating a heavy meal. Get doc. to check. You're a long time dead, and the weather always improves after you have died!!
