Lung Disease.....?

We found out last hours of darkness that my great-grandfather had lung disease. Can anyone communicate me what exactly that is? Should we be really concerned in the region of it? Please...the doctor didn't really tell us anything something like it. Thankz.

Answers:    Lung disease is any disease or disorder where lung function does not work properly. There are three prevalent types of lung disease:
* Obstructive lung disease -- a decrease surrounded by the exhaled air flow cause by a narrowing or blockage of the airways, which can occur near asthma, emphysema, and chronic bronchitis.
* Restrictive lung disease -- a decrease contained by the total volume of air that the lungs are competent to hold. Often, this is due to a decrease surrounded by the elasticity of the lungs themselves or caused by a problem related to the expansion of the chest wall during inhalation.
* A deformity in the wherewithal of the lung's air sac tissue to move oxygen into a person's blood.
Major lung diseases include:
Asthma
Chronic bronchitis
COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)
Emphysema
Interstitial lung disease
Pulmonary fibrosis
Sarcoidosis
Consult your doctor and state specific type of lung disease.
shame on your doctor, but near privacy acts imposed on vigour institutions, it is up to the patient how much info can be released to family. some patients will not allow any info to be released to anyone.there r 2 abundant lung diseases it could b, so ask your grandfather what he was told. also find out if you or anyone surrounded by your family are "allowed" info in the order of him. if you are included, go to the doc next to him and ask questions.
