I am assuming by stomach bug you are more than likely referring to something like a quick viral infection (We would call it a 24-hour bug, or stomach flu). Anyway, this is only preventable by using basic personal infection control measures and still it is not 100% because with something like this it is highly infectious and goes everywhere-- i.e. the vomiting/diarrhea)

- Ensuring proper hand washing techniques/frequency
- Stay away from anyone whom you may think is sick
- Disinfect surfaces that are frequently touched (especially kitchen/bathroom/doorknobs, etc)
-Try to be more aware of what you are doing with your hands (ie. do not touch face, mucous membranes/nose area so much)
