Ever used doxycycl for cystic acne?

I have moderate, not cystic, acne. I have been taking doxycycline for several years. I take it twice a day. It does help to keep the acne from getting too bad, but you would have to take it for more than two weeks. If you only have one pimple, maybe that's why they only want you to take it for two weeks.
You should see some improvement in a few days. The pimple should be less inflamed and infected looking, but you will still have a red bump for at least another couple of weeks.
By the way, doxycycline makes me really sick at my stomach if I don't take it with food.
doxycycline is an antibiotic.
they are effective in cystic pimples, but it all depends on your skin type.
