I think I have ADHD, what did you feel when you first took your meds?

I think I have ADHD. Often times, a person will be explaining an experience they had to me, and then they ask me a fact about their story, and my mind is completely blank. For example, a person will be telling me what happened at work and what they ate for lunch and about 5 minutes later when they ask me what they ate for lunch, I will have no idea. I often find myself forgetting things like this. I have a HORRIBLE attention span. I'm often drifting out when people are speaking to me. When reading books, I have to often read paragraphs multiple times. It seems like I'm reading the text, but I'm not comprehending it, it's not embedding into my head. I was wondering if I might have ADHD and what your experience was like once you got medicated?

Everyone has issues with attention, don't let the idiot shrink get you on riddlin or any other bs anti ADHD drug all it does is dumb you down to think that you can't control it and you need drugs. I've seen at least 3 of my friends collapse after going on these stupid things, please consider other means of dealing with your seeming inability (which you can harness, believe it or not) to pay attention.

The best cure for ADHD is a good belting across the back for about 5 minutes when you do something wrong.

All i know is the kids with ADHD have way better personality than those that dont have it. haha i have adhd i am totally normal. I took Ritalin for about a week and it made my heart race so fast it made me more hyper, so i stopped. its all mental you can put your mind to anything just concentrate harder.

I have it, and that's exactly what I was like. When I got put on medication, they put me on adderall, and the first few days were horrible because other than cold medicines, I'd never really had any other medications my whole life. For a couple days I shook uncontrollably and getting to sleep was difficult. But after that, it really wasn't that bad. I focus better now, I control my emotions better, I can read something once and actually understand what I read. you probably just need to go see a pshyciatrist and get an evaluation.

For a long time my parents thought I had and so did the doctors, because i had problems paying attention in class so they put me on the meds and I started acting funny all the time when they took me off of it I felt better alot of people are wrongly diagnosed with adhd the truth is that is just who I am sometimes I don't pay attention like I should, but the reson why people are wrongly diagnosed is that they think they don't have the ability to pay attention and i did it is just that sometimes things can be boring (like in school) and you have to make yourself pay attention and work hard.

i have ADHD and ive been positivly diagnosed twice
u dont sound 2 me like u have it
but the medicines r not good anyway
i took them when i was very little and my parents said they affected me very badly and they got so scared of the way i acted they took me off of them
i havent taken them 4 at least 10 years but i know people who take them
and i dont like wat they do 2 my friends
its almost like they arent there most of the time
they are sedated
u could almost say constantly sleepy
i wouldnt recomend taking them even if u have ADHD

Ask your doctor about Deplin as an augmentation therapy. It will reduce side effects.
