Yes you can get meningitis from kissing. That is considered close contact.
You may not think you are paranoid, however you actually do sound a bit paranoid. Sorry...
At any rate, before you go and start kissing on some one or anything else like it you may want to get to know them first. If it is a concern that they are a "carrier" you will at least know them enough to know how their health is long term. Meningitis can be a fatal disease, however you do have more than hours before it becomes a fatal issue.
Feeling like you do (a bit paranoid) I imagine if in the rare circumstance you were close enough to someone who actually had meningitis and did contract it; I am sure you would be in the ER receiving treatment as soon as symptoms appeared . meningitis or not.

you are being dramatic....if you are that worried go to your dr and have him\her answer all of your questions.
you are paranoid it's not that bad you should already be vaccinated... its required for most school systems.. and yes.. it spreads through that kind of contact... sharing drinks... kissing... etc
you are very paranoid..think about what you said "after you get the symptoms you die within hours" wrong..but if that was true how would they get tested they would die during it.you would know if they had it..they would be very ill...don't be so paranoid that is the least of your worries
very few ppl contract the meningicoccal bacteria also most people get vaccinated before they move off to college, its fairly routine and you could get the shot at your doctors if you really wanted to.
Just know who your kissing. herpes is worse than meningitis haha!
