There are no cures for psoriasis, only managements, which is most appropriate depends on severity. It is important to avoid alternative options as these are generally a waste of time.
If the disease is very mild simple Vaseline and a tar shampoo may be all that is needed to reduce the scaling. The next medication is Calcipotriol ( Dovonex ), this is a clean and quite successful ointment applied twice daily which also exists as a scalp solution. In some patients it does not work well, and in some its effects wear off. The next choices are both older and messier, and can produce skin damage if not started very dilute, or allowed to be in contact with the skin for too long. These are tar, which works best if added to a greasy base like diprobase, this can be used in gradually escalating concentrations if tolerated, and dithranol, which can be very successful if started as very short contact, perhaps as little as 30 minutes initially.
In severe, widespread psoriasis UV light therapy is used, preceded by a photo-sensitiser. Topical steroids are often used, they are fairly safe on the thickest area of skin, such as the scalp, but should generally be reserved for short term rescue therapy only. This is because they themselves can thin and damage the skin and they also tend to produce rebound flare up of ther disease when the patient tries to stop them.
There really isnt a "cure" for Psoriasis but there are some really good lotions and cream that will help. One is cocoa butter another is triple lanoline and then there is vaseline jelly.
They wont cure but it will help it not spread or itch as bad.
(I highly recommend the cocoa butter)
Melaleuca has lotion called Renew which helps skin heal itself. It was recently clinically tested against Eucerin and the Renew won hands down in every category in the clinical test.
Melaleuca offers a money back guarantee on all their products if you are not satisfied, even if you use all of the product and return only the empty bottle.

The best natural treatment (without steroids or allergens) on the market for psoriasis today is Champori anti-psoriasis cream and spray. Avalable at http://www.champori/psoriasis-relief.asp... It cleared my 4 year old psoriasis in just a couple of weeks.
Best,

Some people say that diet plays a big part in managing psoriasis successfully Check out avoiding things like dairy products and avoid smoking.
theres no cure but Exorex is apparently good. i worked in a pharmacy and a lot of people said they swore by it. its available over the counter in pharmacies or places like Boots about £15 a bottle, but its a case of finding what works for u.
there is no cure hun sorry to say i have had it for around 15 yrs now and its getting worse.many things make it worse like what type of foods you eat i.e dairy or even alcohol!!
each person is different when it comes to creams and there are many of them on the marker either on script or over the counter.
i have tried loads even puva which is a strong stand up sun bed WHICH I DONT RECOMMEND it has bad side affects like skin cancer and cateracts!
at the moment i have gone back to dovobet and dovonex which are not recommended for long term usage.
a friend gave me a tip at work the other day when bathing use a green scourer on the affected areas to rub away the skin then apply creams...reason being when you apply creams it has to try and sink into the many layers of psoriasis when removing the skin it skins straight into your normal skin.tried this on my elbows and yes they did look better after just doing it once...try it and see what happens..
there is lazer treatment...wee on it (old wifes tale) it works for some people..its not always in the genes NO ONE in my family has it not even grandparents.
its part of my life now and i have to live with it
good luck hun with what ever you try

I have had psoriasis for most of my life I am 22 now. I tried every cream, bathed in the most disgusting ointments and had hospital sunbed teatments but nothing worked. I would never have dreamed of wearing shorts and t-shirts. Two years ago I tryed dovobet ointment and it worked fab I even went on holiday and wore a bikini! It still flares up now and again but then I just continue using the ointment only for about a week or two though as it is very strong. Dont give up you will find something that works for you. Try not to stress about it because it will make it alot worse. Good luck.

There is not a cure. I have psoriasis, and I got a steriod cream from my doctors, which has definatly helped - my psoriasis has been gone for months. If you have it in your scalp, try using T-gel. At £6 a bottle, its expensive, but it is worth it. People say sun can help, but in my case it can't, as I got psoriasos after too much sun exposure. I hope I have helped you.
