I understand your concern, but please try and put your fears away.
This is a very simple and short procedure, and I have had it done several times.
My Gastrointerologist is very sweet and understanding, but - does Not put a person to sleep for this procedure.
One is given medication to make them very relaxed, and they might doze off from the meds, but not like with anaesthesia.
They spray your throat to kind of numb it, and it does not hurt.
Please have this done so that they can see if you need medication, or just a change in diet.
Not to worry any more :-)
Hi- No need to worry. I've had an endoscope done before- They do put you to sleep and it rules out any thing that cannot be seen with a simple exam @ the Doctor's office. It is a very simple procedure, and light anesthesia is used. It is better to know if you have acid reflex disease, as this is treatable. Please DO NOT WORRY. The Anethesist will take to you before the procedure, where you can discuss ur fears of the meds he will give you for this procedure. Good Luck & Take Care!
