Hyperthyroidism ?

Question:
A close friend of mine has hyperthyroidism, she has seen a doctor and is on the right medication but one question the doctor didn't really answer was why her left ear felt like there was water in it. It felt like this for 2 weeks even though she doesn't swim or anything. She knows already read some information about hyperthyroidism. My friend has had a stressful history and depression too, so that's how she developed hyperthyroidism.
What she asked me was why was her ear doing that? If u could plz answer that and give me an informational web page (if possible), i'll gladly appreciate it! (and u'll get 10 points!)

thanx♥

Answers:
i have had hyperthyroidism, and cancer of the thyroid,i'm also a nurse and have never heard of any ear conditions because of your thyroid.as you said it is stressful and causes depression until your treated you feel like you're losing your mind.
this ear thing may be an altogether thing, alot of people get clogged ears, you can tell her to try a little warm olive oil & leave it in for at least 10 minutes.if it persists she should see an ENT doctor.
I have this too. I have what the call Hashimotos's Syndrome. My ears are blocked with fluid too and I can't work out why. My Dr won't tell me either. Try these websites and I will look over it too and then we can let each other know!!
Good luck

Edit: I just realised I didn't put the web address in. Sorry, but it's here now!
I have hyperthyroidism and I've never heard of any ear-related symptoms. Hyperthyroidism has to deal with your thyroid being overactive and producing too much thyroid hormone, causing lack of periods. It can *cause* depression, but it is not a result of depression. You can't develop hyperthyroidism from being stressed or depressed. When thinking of hyperthyroidism you mainly associate it with a lack of menstruation. Unrelated to hyperthyroidism, being stressful can cause you to not have your period, or for it to be irregular. Being stressed does not *cause* the condition, it only adds to it. Your body has to already be functioning in such a way internally that it does not produce the right amount of hormones for your thyroid gland to function properly and stabilize what it needs to, like metabolism.

The point: your thyroid has nothing to do with your ears.
