Why did my Doctor stick something into my rectum?
Question:
I met the GI doctor and I forgot to tell him that my doctor told me about using a needle to take a piece of my liver. He checked my results and my ultrasound results, he told me I am fine. After he told me that I don't need medicine, he told me to lie down on the bed with a mat and towels rolled on top. He listened to my heart and he lifted up my shirt and asked me to lean on my side and as I did, he asked me to lower my pants and I lowered it to my gut and unexpected, he pulled down my pants revealing my butt and stuck something into my rectum with maybe his finger.
Answers:
The only thing I can think of is a suppository or checking prostate, but he said you didn't need medicine. He should have told you what he was doing. If you feel really concerned definitely tell your Dr. This behaviour is not normal for a Dr as I said before he should have let you know what he was about to do and WHY he was doing it. Good luck and let me know how everything goes coz I would be concerned. Good luck and be positive. You didn't do anything wrong but next time maybe take someone with you and write all of your questions down before you go in to see the Dr. Ask why he is doing everything and if there are any easier alternatives if it sounds funny.
Good luck

He was checking your prostate. This is a normal thing they do to males. It was his gloved finger and that is how they check your prostate. He should have warned you he was going to do this but since he didn't......oh well.
Sorry, but that wasn't your doctor...
Maybe he just really liked you... or maybe he just got out of jail.
Actually, he was checking your prostate glad. They can insert a finger into your anus and feel the gland and tell if it is swollen. It takes about 5 seconds.
don't worry unless there were hidden cameras and you giggled.
You should have asked him about it after all it is your body. He probably just did a rectal exam which is a normal procedure and a finger is used with gloves and lubricant to check for growths or hemorrhoids, and your prostate gland. He should have warned you and told you what he was going to do. I think I would suggest getting a different Dr. for your next exam.
Get used to it. Should you reach age 50, it's a real good idea to have it done once each year to check for cancer. Personally, I prefer the doctor to be cold and impersonal during a rectal exam.
