Does benadryl allergy and cold help out bug bites/ bee stings?

Yes, an antihistamine helps reduce the swelling and itching. A topical application of a paste made by mixing a small amount of water with baking soda also helps. Apply the moist baking soda, and cover it with a damp paper towel. Leave it until it dries. Then rinse. Reapply as needed. The baking soda is soothing, and cleans out the wound.
Yes it should help. When my friend got stung a couple weeks ago, the pharmacist said warm compresses to help draw out the venom and to take benadryl, you can also use benadryl cream on the bites to help as well.
Plain Benadryl, yes, but the Benadryl cold medicine has ingredients beyond what you need for the bug bites. It's always best not to take any meds that are combinations unless you need to help all the symptoms listed on the label. You can also invest in a bottle of Benadryl spray. You can spray it on bites or bumps so that you won't get the drowsy effect most people get when they take Benadryl.
It would be better in this instance to either buy some Benadryl cream to treat a insect bite it will help with any itching etc.and you won't have to worry about any side effects that might affect your whole body.. Generics are just the same & will save you money.Look for "Diphenhyramine" cream at any drug store or Wal-Mart. Take care SW RNP
Benadryl (diphenhydramine Hcl) is an anti-histamine. When an insect bites they release histamines into the blood stream so when you take something like the Benadryl, being an anti-histamine, combats the histamines in your system. I also feel that applying some 1% Hydrocortisone Cream would help considerably with the itching you feel from the bites. I hope this has been helpful to you. Good luck
im not quite shure but meat tenderizer and cold should help also try to pull out the stinger if possible
