Std question?

Question:
if you use a condom can you still get genital herpes? or will the condom prevent it? and if the person has it can you get it from kissing too or just from sex?

Answers:
Genital herpes is really hard to prevent from spreading.. If lesions are present, even if you're using condom, there would still be a chance of giving it to your partner (like the secretions coming out from condom or fluid transfer)..

However, if the lesions are not present, using condom will decrease the risk.. Have you notice in the commercial, they would say that even without lesion you can still spread Genital Herpes?

But really, the best way to avoid getting Genital Herpes is abstinence from sex (w/c is impossible).. Or not to practice consensual sex..

IF kissing (that's different kind of Herpes not genital Herpes)..It will be cold sore/ fever blister (which is very common).. It's not really a problem unless, if you or your partner has cold sore then through oral sex, possible cross contamination is very likely to happen..

To be safe, "NO SEX if the lesions are present & use Condom if the lesions are GONE"

NO KISSING for any parts of your body (especially in the mucosal area) to avoid transferring the virus from your mouth to some parts in your body..

Hope this helps:p
yes u can so be careful out there
the condom dose not protect you from herpes you can also get it from kissing and oral sex as well
STD's are not picky about he mucous membrane they enter your body from. I.E. being your mouth, anus, or any orfice thats contains MM. So wearing a condom during sex is fine but. But you should take precautions during oral sex as well.
Be safe,,,,,,

Yes, condoms provide around 50% protection against herpes, but as it is a virus transmitted skin to skin, and a condom only covers some of the genital area, it can still be passed on.

There are two strains of herpes, hsv1 and hsv2.

-Hsv1 usually affects the mouth, causing 'cold sores' and 80% of the population are infected with this.
-Hsv2 usually infects the genitals and 25% of women and 20% of men are infected with this strain.

However, hsv1 can also infect the genitals (accounting for up to 40% of new genital herpes cases), causing an infection with the same symptoms which recurrs less frequently, and it is possible though not that common to have an oral infection with hsv2. Each form is happier in its 'home site' and causes a milder and less active infection when in the other location.

If your partner only has genital herpes of either sort, it cannot be passed to you from their mouth, as it is a localised infection in the genital region. You could only catch it through intercourse, or possibly their genital infection could be transfered to your mouth by giving them oral sex, in which case you would get cold sores (oral herpes) caused by the same variety of herpes they had genitally, but would not have genital herpes yourself.

If they have cold sores on their mouth (oral herpes) - which would be a separate infection to their genital herpes (80% of the population have oral herpes), they could give you oral herpes on your mouth through kissing you even when a cold sore is not present, but again this would be a localised infection on your face. If you already have cold sores yourself you won't catch them again.

If someone with oral herpes on their mouth gives you oral sex, they can transfer their oral herpes to your genitals, even when they do not have a cold sore present. This happened to me when my boyfriend gave me oral sex. Oral hsv1 is about as infectious as genital hsv2 and as easily passed to the genitals if the person receiving oral does not already have it on their mouth.
