If you are somewhere without an inhaler, what do you do?

This problem has happened to me on a few occasions. if you start to have an attack (assuming its asthma) the results vary depending on the trigger. if its an Stress or Panic response then try to Relax & dont panic as this can make you Hyperventilate, consentrate on slow steady deep breaths. if you find yourself hyperventilating then a PAPER bag can help recycle the excess oxygen in your body. if its due to a allergic reaction then follow the previous actions & try to get medical help. a chemist will prescribe an Emergency inhaler as long as you give them your GP's details so they can get the prescription later. if you are not near a chemist then a hospital is your best option. as the airways will be inflamed & need the Reliever to open them again. I always keep a spare at work incase i forget.
Light a good cigar
breathe into a paper bag
It depends where you are. I'm sure if there's a pharmacy nearby they will supply one, If not is there a hospital?
Best thing is to make sure you have an inhaler with you at all times.
I know a couple of people that died,,
Not worth takeing the risk,,,
remember to take it with me next time... uses a paper bag and get one from a chemist.. quickly
Hope your not having an attack now.
Always take it with you.
I even have a spare in the car in case I lose the one in my pocket.
breathe in and out od a paper bag
If you are talking about your reliever and you have any significant level of disease go and get one. If you are caught out in an emergency in any room full of people someone will have one and often people carry a new spare.
If you are on albuterol/salbutamol only, then you might be able to make a for a while on Primatine Mist (inhaled epinephrine). Primatine Mist can be bought without a prescription at most pharmacies. You would need to ask the pharmacist specifically for it.
The problem is that inhaled epi is not as strong as albuterol/salbutamol and has potentially dangerous side effects. It's vitally important to use it as directed. I would use Primatine Mist if I lost/forgot my inhaler, but be particularly cautious about following the directions to the letter. It would then be important to get your regular inhaler ASAP, when it was possible to do it. Primatine Mist is a good way for people with asthma to be medicated when they lose/forget their inhaler for a few days.
If you are having breathing problems that are out of control, heading to the ER is a good idea. They might be able to provide you with an inhaler there, although this is certainly not the most economical way to get one.
Always make sure you have more than one inhaler.E.g put 1 in your bag one in the car etc.If you discover you dont have one. Ring the NHS helpline and they can advise you.You could go to the nearest a and e department and they would write you a perscription for an inhaler. Remain calm thou if you can.If its asthma losen the closing around the neck area and sit up right.
