What are ways i can have my HIV results told to me?

Question:
Im going to be quite busy and I don't think i would have time to go back into the clinic and get told my results. So im asking is there other ways? Like could the results of my test be mailed? Or maybe they can call me? Thanks

Answers:
It would probably depend on the doctor and office and their policies. My doctor will and did tell the results over the phone. Call them and ask.
Well, unfortunately, even if the results are negative, the clinic that has the results, cannot tell you over the phone. There are strict guidelines in place when notifying a patient of their HIV results. No, and, the results cannot be mailed either. It's best that you find the time to receive your results in person. In addition, there is a Federal Law governing giving patient information to anyone other than the patient. So, for your peace of mind and learning your results, make an appt. to do so. I hope that this helps.
It depends on the doctors office. I worked for a few that will give u a negative result over the phone but not a positive one. I also worked where they won't release any thing over the phone so really it is up to your doctor.
