well, considering that lichen planus is usually a symptom of a particular disease, I'd say yes, in some cases it can be cured.
lichen planus is usually associated with liver disease and is seen higher in those specifically with hepatitis c-an rna virus that attacks the liver, becoming chronic and affecting all sorts of organs such as the skin.
if a person can find out what is causing this rash, if their disease is treatable, chances are it can possibly go away.
