You can cut back on salt, and do a lot of other things that may or may not work, like yoga. Or avoiding stress, but if you can figure out how to do that...write a book and make a fortune. Sometimes when a doctor takes your blood pressure it goes up a bit just from the stress of seeing the doctor, its called the White Coat Effect. The only real way to figure if you pressure is high is to take it several times.
By the way, I am overweight, and my bp is 120/80, and I'm 60. Its really important that everyone understands that you don't have to be overweight to have a problem with blood pressure.
Exercise, it is so helpful. I walk and that has done wonders for mine, O and garlic! I eat a ton of it and mine was pretty sacry high
Run a mile or something.
make sure to keep your starches and sodium down potatoes are really bad and jsut try to keep healthy no dressing on salad because it adds salt and calories
If you take your bp over the day you will find it various up and down so you need to take it every hour.. just one reading doesn't mean you have high blood pressure.
See your doctor. He or she will have the best advice.
Cut out salt, exercise and do deep breathing. It lowers blood pressure, makes your heart rate drop, etc. It works.I've had major high blood pressure. Also was told by a nurse - do not drink gatorade - too much salt.
People of all ages can be prone to heart disease. Unfortunately it is not always picky on whom it will attack. Please get with a physician. There could be something more going on even though you may be doing everything to avoid the obvious.
nothing. you shouldn't worry about it. only when it breaks 100 should you be worried. 90 is still int he "ok" range. while it is a little above average, it's not going to cause you any long term problems, unless it starts getting worse. if nothing else, consult your physician. (i've always wanted to say that).
I have the same problem, I am 27 and actually I am underweight but mine is caused by Kidney disease...The doctor recommends for lowering blood pressure (mine is really high at times, stroke level to be honest 202/125)...Don't drink anything but water and no salt... I also don't eat much fried foods and I eat a lot of turkey and chicken...Red meat is rare...If it doesn't lower you may need to see a doctor and be put on some sort of mediciation...Water pills work wonders...Good luck!
Exercising regularly will reduce your diastolic pressure (the 90 part). Here is how it works. People who excercise regularly actually have slower heart beats. This is good when it is caused by excercise. In your case, if you heart beat slower your diastolic pressure will normalize.
Diastolic pressure is the pressure in your vessels when your heart is feeling with blood. So it makes sense that slowing down your heart gives it more time to fill.
Trust me, I am a med-student
