Does persistent acne go away after puberty's over?

Question:
I'm not here to discuss your OMG I FOUND A NEW CURE QUICK BUY IT ONLINE HERE! or, "GO TO A DERMATOLOGIST", or "geez wash your face". i know my research and i've had acne since 11 i'm 15 now and i think if i've had it for this long i would have visited the dermatologist. nothing works. im tired of having to spend 15 minutes in the bathroom applying medication then taking in oral medication for my persistant acne when all my other friends dont even go to bed with their faces washed and theyre STILL spotless! and i'm not being dramatic i have BAD bad bad acne. even all over my body.

but my question is, with me having NO FAMILY HISTORY with acne in it whatsoever, would there be a chance my PERSISTANT acne go away or lessen to some point on its own by the time im in my early-mid 20's?? i always get new breakouts and pimples and scars but they never go away not even the help of pro's. so i'm counting on mother nature.

Answers:
In some cases, the acne will go away. Even if it doesn't, it will at least lessen.

I am 30 and have had acne since I was 12. Mine did not go away after puberty, but it did lessen. I still get a few zits every now and then on my face, but it isn't bad. Most of my acne now is on my back.

My father is in his late 60's and he still gets zits and blackheads.

If you acne doiesn't go away completely, it will at least lessen severly once puberty is over. You may still have problems around the hair line and other areas that collect oil, like the creases where your nose meets you face, but it will be nothing like the extreme that you are at now.

It will get better. If it does go away, that is great. Worst case scenario you will at least have a much more manageable level of acne.
Not really. Having acne has nothing to do with familial traits. My husband had terrible acne as a teen, continues to have some acne (though not as bad) and he is 36. And none of his family (he is one of 9) have acne.
Yeah, i think your acne will lessen with time, but you probably will never be free of acne. My father had bad acne when he was in school, but he still got a few zits even into his forties.
