Why do I have hay fever?
Question:
I know that I have a sensitised immune system which reacts to the allergen pollen (grass and a few tree pollens) which triggers antibody production resulting in the release of histamine which causes these uncomfortable and irritating symptoms.
I'm particularly sensitive and suffer with it in my eyes the most along with all the other typical symptoms. I take oral, nasal and ocular medication 3 times a day for 5 months of the year to provide limited relief. I find some summers are worse than others with one particular summer needing a visit to the hospital for an emergency steroid injection and a 10 day course of steroid eyedrops 3 times a day. They were very milky and made me lose my vision for 10 minutes after each application which was fun.
So why do I have hay fever? Where does the fault lie?
Answers:
With a heritability of 60%, I guess I'd have to go with "genetics" as far as an answer to "where does the fault lie" in the development of hay fever.
because you mother and father are brother and sister, therefore you are a sickly inbred

I have always wondered about this being a fellow hayfever sufferer and one year a piece of the side or my eye just covered my eyeball like a third eyelid because i kept rubbing it i have oral, nasel and eye medication but never use it and over the last four years of not using it my symptoms have slowly started to leave but then again i did used to live in the country and now live in a town maybe i have started to become immune from not filling myself with medicationa nd just baring with the effects no matter how horrible i dont ever want my body to become dependant on medication even when i have headaches i let them subside with no meds and the same with my two fillings i recently had done i didnt get my mouth numbed..
Good luck
I asked a doctor once about the connection the sinuses have to the immune system. Turns out the immune system of the nose can be influenced by the health of your liver. Since the liver is the core of your immune system.
This explains why my hay-fever has gotten worse since I was little and I think also explains alot of my friends allergy problems. So my suggestion would be to get that liver checked on to see if it's running at optimal health.
Hope this helps. Best of luck to you.
