What's a good medication to take if you're allergic to cats?

Question:

I love cats, but I am allergic to them. I also have yearly allergies as well. I just got a cat last week and today my allergies was terrible. I am not sure if it was the regular allergies or if it was because of the cat. But I am betting on the latter. I really like the cat I just got and I don't want to get rid of her. So, I was wondering if anyone can suggest a good medication for me to take so I won't have to get rid of my cat. Thanks.

I had the same problems with cats, loved em but allergic... it seamed that I was much more allergic to outdoor cats than indoor cats.. something to do with the dander...so maybe keep your cat indoors but never where you sleep and if you had a problem benydryl always worked for me... I never had yearly allergies. just outside cats and if I got scratched.. wow I would blow up like an over ripe strawberry... hope this helps

I take Clairiton [sp?] clear for most of my allergies and it keeps them away a lot of the times. but for some of my more "severe" allergies i get prescribed medicine from my doctor.

I take claritin and benidril they seem to help with my alergies

well being in medical field i will not defenitly tell u to take some drug ! but there is options available ! u can just see a physician and he can get u good anti allergic drugs which really works ! belive me me too have sever allergy !

generally when a person is allergic to something. doctors generally prescribe antihistamines e.g these are some of the over the counter drugs ..., dph, loratidine, histal tabs, .. Zyrtec , aerius and such
