For kidney protection, either ARBs are better then ACE?
Question:
My husband does not has high blood pressure but his creatnin is 2.0 which is high. He is on lisinopril 5mg but his BP is going down and now I want to switch him on DIOVAN. Pease advice me what do to?
Can you advice me about any other medicine to improve the Creatnin function?
Answers:
Why do you want to switch him to Diovan? The only reason to switch is if the patient is having side effects from the ACE. The Diovan is as likely to cause low BP as the ACE.

They're basically the same. You switch to ARBs if you develop cough from ACE inhibitors.
