I used to be hypothyroid, and started taking synthroid and mylevels went back to normal.?

Question:
Yesterday I felt really bad and didnt hardly do anything.
Could I be going back to hypo again?

Answers:
Yes. I had the same thing happen to me. I was on the Synthroid for a year or so, then when on vacation I ran out so stopped taking it for awhile. I got tested and my levels were okay so I didn't have to get another prescription. But a couple of years later I had to start Synthroid again. Every Dr. I have seen has told me that most people will go back and forth on needing the Synthroid and most will eventually need to be on it full time.
I had the same problem last year. Be sure that your doctor does regular thyroid checks. Levels can fluctuate as your body changes. You may need to have your dosage adjusted.
may if u stop taking the drug as this drugs mostly taking for life &may be not ...this weather affect our general health
Are you testing first thing in the morning each and every time? TSH needs to be done first thing in the morning and only in the morning. This is because TSH is highest while we sleep. This means you want to test while its near the high point to get the corect dosage of medication. If you test in the afternoon at any time, you will be put on the wrong dosage.

Also, for most on Synthroid, the morning TSH should be around 1.0 for relief of symptoms.

Thyroid meds are usually for life.
