6.Glycosylated Hemoglobin (HbA1C)
7.Self-monitoring of Glucose level via Home Kits
Clinical correlation
The fasting blood glucose (FBG) level is the most commonly used indication of overall glucose homeostasis.. They reflect abnormalities in the multiple control mechanism of glucose regulation.
expected range should be: below 120
The metabolic response to a carbohydrate challenge is conveniently assessed by the postprandial glucose level drawn 2 hours after a meal or a glucose load. In addition, the glucose tolerance test, consisting of serial timed measurements after a standardized amount of oral glucose intake, is used to aid in the diagnosis of Diabetes.
the range should be 110-180.
They had me do the exact opposite of drinking a sugary drink: I was told to fast the day of the test.

I turned out to be hypoglycemic.
You can also get a blood test for HA1c, anything over 6.0 means your diabetic. There are two types of diabetes, type 1 or juvenile hits people under 30 type 2 or adult onset generally gets people who are over 40. Due to our sedentary life styles type 2 is showing up more often in younger people now.
request orange flavored glucose water. Its the most tolerable. I knew what I was getting myself into the last time I was tested so I just gulped it down in 30 seconds. The faster you are the less time you have to think how sick it is to drink that crap and the faster it gets over.
Go to the doctor.
Your iron pills will not effect the outcome.
They will do a blood test- just like your Dad does daily.
They may do more tests too.
!7 is NOT too young to get diabetes. It effects children and adults of all ages.
Have your parents make you a doctors appointment.
