A friend of mine had similar, 2 yrs ago she had a virus, followed by a sinus thing, mucus like you described. because of the nausea, cough syrup would make you feel sicker- so focus on the nausea feeling - strange as it may sound, ask mom if she has or can get you a can of peaches in regular or heavy syrup NOT LIGHT SYRUP- a few teaspoons of the syrup will help you feel better, and if you find you do, you can even eat the peaches as well if you want. But for starters try the syrup alone first.
It helps heart burn, nausea and also indigestion.
Your body is still in recovery mode, so treat it as such and also try to eat some pretzels, or saltines. Some ginger ale too. Eat bland until you adjust and recover. If the mucus persists, you may have a sinus infection (nasal Drip) that is prolonging the situation...When you feel well enough to keep things down, you may want to try taking advil cold and sinus- see if this helps if not, I would see a doctor.
Feel better- {{hugs}}
If they are phlegm balls ( I assume you are saying they have some consistency, not runny), phlegm is not caused by lack of food. Stomach juice however is a bright nasty yellow that may appear in your vomit if you have not been eating or drinking. Either way, if you have been vomiting for an extended period of time 24 hours straight or more than please go ask them to take you to the Doc.
You may have a sinus infection. Post-nasal drip gives me nausea too. But if you threw up and then inhaled some of the stomach acid into your lungs, than can cause cough and phlegm too. Go to a doctor so they can check you out ! If you also have fever, headache, or you're really really tired, then you may need antibiotics.
