Stomach ulcer?

Friday I felt really ill. my mom said I felt warm and looked flushed. felt very weak, but I hadn't eaten all day. I throw up some black stuff, and my mom said it looked like "old blood" and wanted to take me to the ER. I thought I had a stomach bug that's being going around, so I wanted to wait a little.
Saturday and Sunday I started feeling a little better, here and there, but still had abdominal cramps, pain, and nausea, oh and indigestion (if that's what you call spitting up nasty acid stuff in my mouth)
the pain is the funny part. I can only seem to help it by eating, especially being completely full. the pain feels like I'm starving 24/7.
Another thing I've noticed in the past few weeks is the color of my stools. they're either pretty soft and maroon in color, or sold with dark streaks. I was trying not to worry about this possibly being blood.
but now that I have these other symptoms, I thought maybe this is an ulcer. can I treat this myself?

Your symptoms could indeed be due to ulcer disease and associated bleeding. You certainly need to see a doctor. In the interim, get Prilosec OTC from the pharmacy (they are 10mg tablets and you don't need a prescription for it) and take 2 tablets 20 minutes before breakfast and dinner (i.e. 4 capsules or 40mg total daily). If you see maroon colored or black tarry stools, or if you vomit up any blood, then go to an ER. Of course you should definitely stop using any NSAIDs and aspirin until you are cleared by your doctor. Acetaminophen (Tylenol) would be safe.
I would guess that you may have developed a duodenal ulcer rather than a stomach ulcer. You will also need to be checked for Helicobacter pylori infection (either with stomach biopsies during endoscopy, a serum antibody test, or a stool antigen test).
I can't give you a diagnosis. I have read enough to tell you that need to see your doctor.

There are several types of ulcers, a peptic ulcer which is what I have I believe is the worst. It affects the nervous system. Spicy foods I love but I try to stay away from. I also must stay calm and not allow situations or people to upset me. I must always keep some type of food on your stomach or the pain in the upper part of your stomach will occur. I also take an herb called "hyssop and chickweed" you can get it from any GNC store. My doctors told me that Ulcers are virus. I've found that they can be healed with the proper herbal medication.
