Help Me please!!!?

Question:

My doc. put me on this med. called Cardizem LA and also I take Metoprolol (lopressor). He wants me to take half of 25mg in the morning and half at nite,along with the cardizem la. I'm scared. Before I walked out that doc. office today,I turn I said,"Well could I just take half of the metoprolol in the morning". He was like I did not told u that. I told u to take the Metoprolol,,half in the morning half a nite along with the Cadizem. My thing is that I'm scared b/cuz I heard thoses two meds together can slow the heart down a bit. And heart faliure may occur along with other things. People say listen & talk to your doc. but I tryed to talk to him and I'm scared to take these together.Someone help me please. I don't know if he's really weaning me off this meds or what!

Call your pharmacy. They can tell you if there is a danger in combining the two, but I seriously doubt that your doctor would prescribe them if there were a real danger.

No one can provide info if they don't know why the doctor prescribed the two medicines. They may work best when used together. Good luck. Pops

Your problem seems to be not you nor your meds but yout doctor. If a doctor doesn't care enough to put enough time to answer all your questions, then you really need to change your doctor.

You can always ask for a second opinion. Usually, your doctor knows what is safe for your body weight, type etc...

Pills do not affect everyone the same way so stop sweating.

Take your pills as directed and keep a journal for the next time you visit. Make sure you note any ill side effects, heart palpatations, anxiety, etc.

You may be pleasantly surprised to find you have none of the above.

If you do, he will adjust accordingly...

your Dr gave you that med because your b/p and heart rate are up, can you take your own pulse? anything over 85 is running high. I f you think its too much then take 1/2 and 1/4 to start, to see how you feel, if its too much you will know. If you can't take your pulse ask someone to show you how, it is easy=

id say get another doctors opinion to make sure its ok
