Inner ear disorders, any remedies?

Question:
I most definitely have an inner ear disorder, but I'm waiting for results from the CT scan and an appointment with a specialist in a couple of weeks. Very hard to wait, the dizziness and vertigo is constant and keeps getting worse. I have already been to my doctor and the emergency room, I have been told there's nothing I can do but wait. Frustrating.

So far, meniere's disease and BVP have been ruled out. I have tried prescription medications as well as herbal (Gingko) but both have only made the vertigo ten times worse. I'm now at a point where I can only sleep 30 minutes at a time before the vertigo kicks in. Getting awfully tired of feeling like I'm spinning all the time.

I'm sure I will be diagnosed eventually, and learn the cause. In the meantime, does anyone know of anything at all that might ease my suffering?

Answers:
Had a good friend of mine that was going thru the same things. Went to this specialist, and that specialist and none could give her a direct reason. She finally went to a Dive ENT specialist who caters to underwater divers. He found a "bubble" behind her ear drum on both sides. Said it was most likely caused by a severe ear infection when she was little. He inserted tubes in both ears to allow the fluid in the bubbles to escape and to prevent them from clogging back up. She is 100% better now and hasnt had ANY issues since.
Dramamine or Meclazine. Motion sickness medications, that may help with the nausea. Beware as they do have a tendency to make one sleepy
My wife has been suffering from this for about two-years now. I actually had to change my insurance at work so that she can be seen by someone she wants too.

She can actually feel a knot behind her right ear, but we have had a hell of a time just to get tubes placed into her ears.

Doctors generally suck. They don't really care that you feel bad or have issues. They just want their pound of flesh from the insurance companies. Don't hesitate to complain to your insurance company if you aren't getting the care you need.
