If u get a regular std test does that include aids/hiv?
Question:
Answers:
AIDS/HIV is an entirely seperate disease. So, for example, if someone gives you herpes, you do not automaticly get AIDS/HIV.
no you have to ask for that separately
An HIV test must be requested or consented to by the patient. Never assume that an HIV test is performed during a routine STD test. To test a patient for HIV without the patients consent is illegal, so you can see why doctors offices and clinics must be very careful about testing for HIV.
If you did not request an HIV test and your doctor did not offer it to you (which you must consent to), the HIV test WAS NOT DONE.
To date, most HIV tests are done using a blood sample or a swab of the inside of the mouth. The HIV test is a separate test indicated on the labwork form. HIV is not considered a sexually transmitted disease, and one should never assume an HIV test is part of an STD panel.
You can call the doctors office or clinic and ask if the HIV test was done. It is highly unlikely though that the HIV test was performed if you didn't actually consent to it. The laws about HIV testing are pretty strict so many doctors require you to sign a paper stating that you requested and authorized the HIV test.
HIV is tested using blood. They can not detect the virus in urine. HIV test is not mandatory, you also have to go through pre test and post test counselling. After pre counselling it is not a must to be tested if you are not ready. It also does not mean that if you test negative for STDs you are definately HIV negative neither does it mean that if you test HIV negative for the first time you are definately negative. You will be requested to go back after the "window period" for re testing which is usually after 3 months. Remember being positive does not mean its a death sentence, it will actually help you adjust your life style and live longer. "Know for Sure!"
SO WHY ARE U TRYING TO HAVE A BABY!!!!!!!!!!... CUT THE CRAP
Getting checked for STD usually only include gonorrhea, chlamydia and trichomonas.
HIV testing is whole different testing. Plus you have to sign a consent for that testing to be done.
NO. You have to ask to be tested for HIV/AIDS and they make you sign a form saying that you are asking to be tested.
