Is is okay to give a dog xanax?
My dog is about 35 pounds, entlebucher mix (small swiss mountain dog) and she is a VERY nervous rider in a vehicle. She will just not lie down or relax. She pants and pants and gets herself so tired out that she will sleep for hours when we arrive at a destination or home. I take xanax myself (.05) and just wonder if they would help her, or are they harmful for dogs? THanks

Oh my gosh!!! Never give a dog human medication without okaying it with your vet. My dog is also a nervous rider and I got some meds from the vet that were quite inexpensive and they work really well.

NEVER give your animal human medication unless you speak to your vet first. My Mom told me to give my cat a half a baby aspirin, she had a fever. It almost killed her.
