Redness associated with conjunctivitis?
Question:
How long will it take for the redness to subside? I'm starting a temp job on Monday (first time I have gone to work in an office for 2 years) and I am starting to get desperate!
Answers:
It really just depends on the person and the severity of the infection. If the puffiness and weeping are almost gone I would think the redness won't be there for much longer. I have had many eye infections , sometimes needing oral antibiotics and my eye can go from being completely bloodshot and swollen one night to almost normal by the next morning so goodluck.
I know in the US they have something called Visine which helps clear the redness with that sort of thing and allergy related things. I don't know if you can get anything like it in the UK but you MUST check with your Dr or at least the nurse since you are using some prescription eye drops. Hope it clears up over the weekend for you on its own though. *S*
you could go in and pretend you are a part time boxer and you won a big fight last week, ok maybe not my best idea
Firstly, make sure your hands are kept spectacularly CLEAN. It's so easy to have a slightly itchy eye and to rub it gently with your finger BUT that's probably where the conjunctivitus started from.
Next the drops will work progressively day by day. Try to assist them by going to bed earlier and not te read in poor light. Tired eyes are not what you want.
With my similar problem my Doctor said carry on the treatment - the drops have to be discarded 4 weeks after opening the tube.
I understand your concern but I suggest you refrain from telling your new employer about it because they might think you are one the problem people.
dont worry it takes about 5 days for the redness to go good luck on your new job
