Cold sore... please help?

Question:
Ok.. im thirteen and im going to be 14 in exactly one week, and i have a cold sore and i know its shallow of me and all but i need to get rid of it before my birthday. Is there any home remedy that helps to get rid of the cold sore or some otc treatment to heal it faster? If so... thanks for the help in advance.

Answers:
Bad luck sweety. Honestly, Zovirax is the best product on teh market.
the supplement L-Lysene will help it go away faster, but it's not an overnight fix. It also helps prevent future cold sores if taken every day.
if u havent already tried it, try using Carmex. i dont know if it will heal it that soon. or try herpicin or go to a pharmacy and ask a pharmacist if they have any ideas for a good otc treatment
Cold sores are caused by a virus so there isn't a lot you can do. Be sure to eat right to get the best vitamins you can. Vitamin B will help so try taking a B complex with all the B vites in it. C also helps.
Topical medication as Zovirax ointment eases the pain and can help speed recovery when blisters appear.
Please see the web pages for more details on Herpes simplex infections (Cold sore).
