Question:
Answers:
Yes you could have given it to her.
If you were infected at the time of birth even with no symptoms or cold sores present. Or by kissing if you have oral herpes (even without cold sores outbreaks is posible to transmit the virus). You could have the virus also in your saliva without knowing it.
"Some people do not get typical blister-like sores but harbor active virus in their saliva, vaginal, or penile secretions, and can shed the virus without knowing they have herpes."

But go to a Doctor, babies can't fight the infection and could have serious complications so is importat to take acction. Besides maybe it's not even herpes but you will never know unless you take her to do some tests.
I doubt you gave it to her. HSV 2 is USUALLY confined to the genitals. If this is the case with you, that you have genital herpes that is, then the answer is a resounding NO, you could not have given it to her. However, if you have cold sores, yeah, you could have. Also there is a slight chance she could have been born with it if you had HSV when you gave birth to her--this is very rare though, and I'm sure your doctor would have shared this with you. If it doesn't clear up in a few days or she complains about it a lot, take her to the doctor.
HSV2 tend to stay in the genital area. you might not have given to her; she might have gotten it from someone else who's having HSV1 (cold sore) when they kiss her or sharing utensil with her, even if they don't have an outbreak at the time
