Questioning to determine their orientation and physical abilities are helpful, but remember, there are many other conditions that can cause symptoms which appear similiar to stroke.
It is an urban myth that this can be done. The answer is no.
I would agree with Jim above, but don't just rely on that for a sign of stroke
#1) What is your name? #2) Can you squeeze my fingers?? #3) Follow your eyes with my finger movement. The ability to follow commands, to assess if they can speak, and their ability to recall.
