I am having my thyroid removed on Thursday, how long are you in a lot of pain?

Question:

Answers:
I had my thyroid removed last year. It was painful for 2-3 days. The first day actually isn't bad because you still have effects from the meds during the surgery. The 2nd day it was the most painful. It feels like you have a giant lump in your throat. Hurts to swallow. But all in all it's not that bad. They offered me pain medication, but I didn't feel like I needed anything stronger than regular tylenol. Within a week you'll feel fine.
A day or two. After that, it's mainly when you touch the site.
i didn't think you could have your thyroid removed..hmmm probably the average 6-8 weeks
three to six month if you don't die
