Once you test positive on an ANA test can you then test negative after the attack is over?

Question:
I went to the doctor because my knees were swollen to the point i could barely walk and was in excruciating pain. My ANA was very high and he stated i needed to see an endochronologist asap. I have not yet seen one do to booking problems, but my knees are getting better. He doesnt feel it is rheumotoid arthritis. Since the knees are getting better now, do i still need to see the specialist?

Answers:
Did he suggest an endocrinologist or a rheumatologist?

I also have a high ANA which is indicative of some type of autoimmune disease, but except for the CRP which indicates an inflammation, all my other tests have come back normal. I have a lot of inflammation in my Achilles tendons which now seems to be spreading to my knees. I am also looking into the possibility that my pain may be due to leg mechanics as opposed to disease.

It would probably be a good idea for you to get more testing done to see if your ANA correlates with a particular disease, and your family doctor would probably prefer to have a specialist look at you. However, since you are currently having some relief from your symptoms, there doesn't seem to be any reason to rush to get that done.
could be indication for Lupus (an autoimmune disease) it will come and go . yes please still see Dr. you should have your ANA checked regularlly now that you have had one high result. also, anytime you see a new Dr for ANY reason, tell them about this test result
