I have to take a stool test. I was given 6 tubes, 1 for each bowel movement, over a period of 3 days. I do not understand the fasting part. I was told to fast 10 - 12 hours. Do i only fast once for the first tube, then the rest i dont need to fast? Or do i need to fast for each day? Also, I was instructed not to eat red meat etc for the OCCULT TEST, but is there a special diet when taking the stool test, because I wasn't given any special instructions for my stool test, only dieting instructions for my OCCULT test.

I would call the clinic where you got the test from and ask for clarification.
I would assume that you fast 10-12 hours before all of the tests. I would do the occult test first after you have gone 12 hours without eating and thus without red meat. then you can eat whatever you want before the other two days of stool testing.
