Allergy to eggs!! Help w/recipes?

Question:
My nephew (17 months) was just diagnosed w/an allergy to eggs. I'm crushed b/c I keep picturing all the kid things he'll be missing out on.like cookies, cake, spaghetti, mac-n-cheese, bread, PIZZA.the list could go on and on.
Are there any recipes that we could make some of these items from scratch w/out using eggs?

Answers:
You can use alot of different substitutes: tofu, bananas, and commercial egg substitutes.

Remember, eggs are primarily utilized for their binding qualities, so you can easily add a substitute without affecting the flavor. Your nephew will love the egg less cookies, cakes, etc.
My grandma always told me that you can substitute applesauce for eggs! Weird. So i tried making pancakes, or maybe it was waffles, and i used applesauce instead and it worked perfectly.
A lot of baking recipes will allow you to substitute mayonnnaise for eggs. There are also egg free pastas out there. It won't be an easy task, but he will still be able to enjoy most foods. Most homemade bread and pizza doughs don't even call for eggs in them. Best of luck in your search for recipes.
do egg allergies include baked items or stuff where the eggs are utilized into pasta, etc?

I know I'm intolerant of eggs (scrambled, over easy, etc.) but have no problem with eating a slice of cake.

There are eggless recipes. And in the store you should be able to buy egg substitute in the dairy case.

Good luck!
my sister (age 10) just outgrew her allergy to eggs. in fact, we still use mainly eggless recipes for baked goods b/c we enjoy the batter so much! try egg substitute. make sure though, that (depending on how allergic he is) is doesn't have any egg in it. use this instead of egg for all your favorite recipes. They might not taste exactly the same, but they'll be fairly close. Also, try using Vegan recipes.
Payless grocery store, Kroger, and a lot of health food stores carry what is called powdered egg replacer. It is totally egg free and you add it to recipes instead of eggs. It is nearly $6 a box, but a box replaces 400 eggs so it is really not expensive at all.
