If i don't show symptoms?

Question:
If I don't show symptoms of STDS ( Not including AIDS/HIV I understand that this may take up to 6 months or longer for signs to show up and can only be confirmed through blood tests and such. ) is it safe to say that I don't need to be tested ( AT THE MOMENT ) and they will not be life threatening? I do not plan on engaging in any type of sexual activity for at least another year and when given the ability to ( after graduating from high school ) I will get tested. Currently due to my situation I am not exactly in a position to get tested/am not able to.

Answers:
std's can sometimes show no signs for years but if your worried you should get tested
No it is not. It is a good idea to get tested anyways, because STDs can show no symptoms at all, so you could have one or more and not even be aware. It is possible (with Herpes patients) to have both types 1 & 2 simultaneously, and to spread herpes and like diseases when you have no symptoms. When you have sex again,

-use condoms
-tell ur partner you think you may have STD
-when u have the opportunity to do so, get tested BOTH OF YOU, and also any other partners you may have (i'm not implying anything with u, just saying)
Go to your local health department, they should test you for free.
